Well, a couple of dear friends really talked me into at least trying to make this video for the newest Paula Deen contest, Real Women of Philadelphia. As most of you know I have an absolutely insane schedule and the very next day I had a rather massive oral surgery planned. It has been so difficult to even talk lately. I have been in so much pain. But, because of how difficult a week it was, and because of the fact that I as panicking over the surgery, my hubbie and I went ahead and did it. It was meant to make me laugh and relax a bit before going under. I really do NOT like the dentist.
We are on water restrictions and I had a very messy kitchen with no water. So we stacked all the dirty stuff in the corner near the pantry and I made the kitchen look as nice as I could. It was a lot of fun to shoot the video. My darling hubbie sure did a great job of splicing it together. I never even wrote a script, I had NO time to even think about that.
After I started to feel better day two of post op, I have had a better chance to sit still and watch the other entries. WHAT WAS I THINKING? These ladies have such lovely kitchens, and they have all the utensils they need. My doors are falling off, and the wires are hanging out, and I know that the Lord answered my prayers that no critters showed their faces while we were filming it. Anyway, I am humbled. Very humbled. But as we all know. It is not at all about the things on the outside but the atmosphere of love on the inside. Families are not built on fine granite, but on faith, love and laughter.
On THAT note, we as a family have not been able to be all together for three long years and tomorrow the girls start flying in. So my next two weeks will be surrounded with family and food of course. In other words you probably will not be hearing too much from me.
And so our dear family had fun dreaming about the prize, and watching the other videos. We found lots of yummy recipes to try and we had mom’s lovely Enchiladas today. So the memory and excitement was well worth it all.
Good luck to all the other wonderful contestants. I hope you all had as much fun as I did.
